00558. SCHLIEFFEN. This paper argues that Germany's WWI "Schlieffen Plan" was perhaps the soundest of all military plans laid out during the war. However it goes on to point out that the plan was not executed as it was originally laid out hence the results did not reflect the plan's full potential. Finally the paper concludes that for a variety of reasons even if the plan had been executed perfectly, it was still flawed and doomed to failure. 12 pages, 11 footnotes, 10 bibliographic sources.
