12663. BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS IN JAPAN. This paper provides an overview and analysis of doing business in Japan from the perspective of the US foreign direct investor and with special consideration to the current economic conditions in Japan and the current efforts towards structural reform. The analysis begins with a profile of the basic parameters of establishing a foreign business in Japan, including an overview of Japanese accounting practices and the accounting system; an outline of the requisite steps towards organizing an investment; a description of international capital markets; and an analysis of some of the key cultural and logistical aspects of doing business in Japan. The rest of the analysis focuses on economic conditions in Japan.
