13115. HOFSTEDE ON BUSINESS CULTURE IN ASIA. This report provides an overview and introduction to Hofstede's theories on national culture and organization. The analysis begins with an overview and critique of Hofstede's methodology. While Hofstede's framework for cultural analysis has been widely cited and applied, a number of researchers have pointed to certain shortcomings and methodological weaknesses. This brief section addresses one common criticism. The next section of the report looks more closely at Hofstede's theories on how national culture affects motivation - a critical area of interest for Hofstede.
