| 15674. JOHNSON & JOHNSON COMPANY: STRATEGY. Drawing on Robert's (1988, 1998) model of strategic thinking and taking the perspective of a consultant making recommendations to J&J's CEO, this paper provides a strategic analysis of J&J. The analysis begins with a brief overview of the company and a brief industry and competitive analysis. The next segment focuses on J&J's ethical policies, values and social responsibilities. A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis is then followed by a summary of J&J's current position and strategy. Based on the analysis and in particular the evaluation of opportunities, a new strategic profile for J&J is selected. The report to the CEO concludes with an extensive list of recommendations (accompanied by a rationale with each recommendation) the consultant believes the CEO should implement in order to make the strategic profile a reality and to achieve competitive advantage in the future.
