15593. THE FAILURE OF 1960'S LIBERAL REFORMS. This paper examines the governmental efforts at liberal reform (such as the "Great Society" programs of the Johnson Administration). The flaws in such programs led to riots among disenchanted minority groups, the creation of a radicalized "New Left," and a reaction among "Neo-Conservatives" who were opposed to the "welfare state" and the neglect of "middle Americans." 5 pages, 9 footnotes, 4 bibliographic sources.
