17218. LEADERSHIP: MANAGEMENT REPACKAGED? This paper provides an overview and analysis of the contemporary notions of business leadership and makes the argument that in some ways, leadership is really just management repackaged. Argues that leadership is not superior to management. Rather, leadership is really just one aspect of the much broader construct of management. Furthermore, it is argued that many of the characteristics which are today put forth as being the earmarks of a “good leader” are fundamentally no different form the characteristics which identified the “good manager” in an earlier era.
