17458. MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP & TECHNOLOGY. This paper considers the impact and role of technology on management leadership since World War II. The paper begins with an overview of the influence of technology on business leadership in the post-WWII. The analysis then focuses on the steps business leaders can take to overcome the negative aspects of technology and looks at how technology can assist management leadership in achieving its objectives and carrying out its tasks. It is argued that technology has completely transformed the nature of work and the organization, including the leader’s role in the organization. To ensure that their companies successfully confront the challenges of rapid and continuing technological change, management leadership must take on the role of change-master and as developer of the future-looking virtual corporation.
