18077. A PERSONAL APPROACH TO SCHOOL COUNSELING. Written in the first person, this paper describes an eclectic approach to school counseling, which is based largely on the theoretical views of William Glasser (the founder of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy), as well as on elements from the work of Alfred Adler and Abraham Maslow. The first section of the paper focuses on philosophical beliefs about human nature; the second section discusses theoretical viewpoints; the third section considers some ways that the personal theoretical orientation can be applied to K-12 settings.
