This paper profiles Cesar Chavez (1927-1993), a political activist and leader of the United Farm Workers who was known for his use of nonviolent tactics in the effort to improve conditions for farm workers. The paper focuses on how Chavez was an inspiring influence for the Chicano movement that arose during the 1960s.
