This paper is concerned with Interface, Inc., a global carpet manufacturer, and its efforts to achieve sustainability and minimize its impact on the environment. The company’s founder, Ray C. Anderson, has been a vital figure in this effort. Anderson was influenced by Paul Hawkins’ book The Ecology of Commerce, as well as consumer demands, to initiate a sustainability program at the company. The effort has been successful in setting an example for other companies to follow.
