This paper defines panic disorder with agoraphobia and considers its causes from the perspectives of the psychodynamic model and the cognitive-behavioral model. These models are applied to the case of a 32-year-old man in order to explain his situation and make treatment recommendations. It is argued that the cognitive-behavioral model provides the best approach to developing a treatment plan in this particular case.
