This paper critically reviews a concert by the New York Philharmonic, which took place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in June 2007. The reviewer responds to the orchestra’s performances of the Semiramide Overture (Rossini), Symphony No. 3 in D Major (Schubert), and Symphony No. 5 in F Major (Dvorak). It is also noted that the program notes were helpful and that the performance helped increase understanding and enjoyment of orchestral music in general.
