18330. TYPE-2 DIABETES AND LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION. This paper argues that lifestyle intervention (which focuses on diet and exercise) is a suitable evidence-based practice for nurses to use to help prevent or delay the onset of type-2 diabetes in patients at high risk of developing the disorder. Various studies that support the approach or compare it with alternatives are described and assessed. Issues of cost effectiveness are also addressed.
