| 07084. "A THEORY OF GOOD CITY FORM" BY KEVIN LYNCH (A REVIEW). Very good review and summary of this book which attempts to provide a normative, humane scale for judging urban design. Lynch is very concerned with flexibility, human scale, allowing humans to decide on their own values, how the design actually performs. Good exercise in the problems of deriving objective criteria from what remains, at bottom, a matter of subjective taste. 8 pages, 1 footnote, 1 bibliographic source. Notes in text. |
