15014. Internet Gambling. This paper provides an overview and analysis of Internet gambling. Following an overview and profile of the history and current scope of the Internet gambling and a discussion of the reasons why the U.S. is likely to continue to maintain a strong position against Internet gambling, the research paper reviews the various legal and regulatory approaches to curtailing Internet gambling. Included is a discussion of the varied approaches of non-U.S. jurisdictions and the treatment of Internet gambling under international law; existing and proposed federal law concerning Internet gambling; and state laws on Internet gambling and a review of recent federal and state court cases concerning Internet gambling. The concluding section speculates on the future of Internet gambling and makes recommendations on federal/state action in this arena.
