17008. The Ethical Dilemma of Deception in Undercover Police Work. Taking a philosophical perspective, this paper discusses the problems of lying, deceit and betrayal of trust inherent in undercover police work. Drawing on the utilitarian, relativist, and justice points of view, it is argued that such work does more good than harm in the long run.
