19266. . Hewlett Packard Enterprise: The Dandelion Program Harvard Business School Case Study 617016 Solution. . NEW, FALL-WINTER 2016-2017. This paper provides a Berkeley Research case study analysis and solution to an INSEAD organizational behavior case study by Noah Askin and Gianpiero Petriglieri on online shoe retailer Zappos’ CEO Tony Hsieh and his efforts to transform the company into a holacracy – a form of organizational self-management that replaces job titles and hierarchy with flexible employee “circles”. After providing background on Zappos’ founding, growth, success, and 2009 acquisition by Amazon, the case focuses on CEO Hsieh’s efforts to transition the company to a holacracy and his decision to move aggressively after March 2015, offering employees 3 months’ severance if they decided that self-management was not to their liking. The case analysis and solution includes problem identification, problem analysis, identification and discussion of alternatives, and recommendations.
